Are you suffering from repetitive researching syndrome?

  • red, watery eyes
  • clenched teeth
  • tremors
  • diaries posted days later than planned

We have a solution. Instead of each of us searching for the same information every time we need it, let's search and post it in a condensed format once, so we can each access it when needed. Madness you say? Madness indeed.

We're starting a project to create Fact Sheets on a wide range of topics. The sheets would contain a general overview, facts, quotes, talking points with replies and links to diaries, blogs and sites with more information. Similar to dkosopedia and Wikipedia, we'll focus more on boiling down information than on well written analysis. Think more bullet lists, less paragraphs.

Action: Florida Redistricting Petition

Tue Jul 12, 2005 at 09:07:17 AM PDT

From the Committee for Fair Elections:

Not a single incumbent in Florida's State Legislature or in Florida's U.S. Congressional delegation was defeated in 2004. In that cycle, 72.5% of state legislative races had only one major party candidate. Of the 142 seats up for re-election, 103 were uncontested by a major party. That made Florida the second least competitive state behind Arkansas.

How could this be? The answer is redistricting.

Katherine Harris - Kabbalah water cure for canker?

Tue Jul 05, 2005 at 06:48:52 AM PDT

Rep. Katherine Harris, who needs no introduction, will be running for senator in Florida next year against incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (democrat). So imagine my surprise when my local paper ran an article about her this morning. And what a fun article it is.

FYI, canker is a bacterial disease to which there is no cure (State site). The state simply removes all citrus trees within 1900 feet whether infected or not. Last week they removed all the citrus trees from my neighborhood including mine (it wasn't infected). It's a big deal in Florida not just for the citrus growers, but for anyone who has a tree which the state can take at any time.

But fear not people, Katherine Harris has a cure.

Plame & Propagannon: New Website is Up

Mon Feb 14, 2005 at 08:02:36 AM PDT

Susan is taking a small, much deserved rest so I am posting this.  Writing is not my strong suit, so please take it easy on me.

Our new site for Propagannon is up and ready for input.  The site is Propagannon.  Please understand we are still working on it, we'll be playing with the layout and we still have to transfer all our information there.  In addition, most of us are still learning how to use the new site.

Thu Feb 03, 2005 at 10:30:37 AM PDT

PLEASE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DIARY
This diary will be linked from the main diary and as such we don't want it recommended.

-------------------------

IMPORTANT NOTE Standingup has taken over volunteers. You should all be hearing from her soon. Thanks for your patience.

--------------------------

This is the thread to organize volunteers.   Post here if:

  1.  You are leading a project and need volunteers
  2.  You have volunteered to help and need help with your assignment
  3.  You wish to volunteer

The goal is to get volunteers where they are needed and to keep track of who is doing what so that we are a little more organized.  If you don't want to post, you can email me (click on my name and it'll give you my email address) or look for me on msn instant messenger (same id as email).
